this is one cosy hangout place that i will revisit! initially thought it would be one of those 'to be seen' place but so far the last time i visited, may be its a wkday, its not so. and what's best, they have quite a good selection of dessert wines! not as in variety, but just some of the better ones. tasty...
from the glass classy exterior yet a peek into the cosy interior already won me over, which took my notice to wanna come try this place out. but my guess is the north east gals wldnt join me and, well, i lost my west side gang... heh
they have high chairs alongside long symatrical tables for bigger group to gather (background), but D and me went straight for the deep set sofa with clean cushions and a breakfast table (foreground).
the bar emits clean lines with very friendly staff, which reviews also praise, and all of us hope that it would stay even after business picks up.
all designs here flow, even the menu is one with the place's design.
this is a must try stated on the review, its good i must say. but, as always, i m lookg forward for others on the menu. as long as its chocolate, and if its flowy.... (drool)

was introduced to another really cosy lunch hangout. the inside is filled with really nostalgia stuff and the outside is cool, though at 1st look you dont find it welcoming. the food is good too.
we choose an alfrasco seating, the weather is quite cool.
you can read about the history of the place as well. according to grace, this place was once demolished but rebuilt with the original pillars due to strong demand. we had a good lunch and a really good talk. i appreciate the trust she placed on me for her intimate thoughts. most of all i apprepriate this friendship built from being work mates.
this place needs car transportation and it was only after lunch, we had a tour around the vicinity that i discovered it was indeed the old british colonial place behind the rails that i used to play as a kid! from the drive around, i got to see the kindergarten church that i used to attend, and my future wedding place. dont understand why they wannna repaint the roof blue, it doesnt feel so cathedral now.Labels: taste buddies

the best part, not with our own money! ya how good can that feel. i wonder if that's how buyers of prestigious luxery brands function. but of cos, the goods are not ours to keep as well. we are presents shopping! and it definately brought us places! we got to spent the later part of the day in sentosa, having dinner by the beach, with fireworks view!! how lifestyle can that be?!

the penang hawkers' fare is back and i got the company of my mummy! she took leave for this day! i took quite a few pictures with my mobile but i didnt know there was a limit to the storage of the file transfers and the earlier files transfered were overwritten and i deleted those in my mobile! boo hoo! but thank god i still have pictures of my mummy enjoying the buffet!
she often eat less or not eat is today eating so much more than me! we had 2nd helpings, and she is going for the 3rd helping! as long as she likes it! hee i really did took lots of really delicious looking food but it just disappeared! so mad! anyways, the penang fried kuey teow, ming chin kuey and of course the all time penang laksa are must try.
the following picture is cute cause she discovered that some table send their foreign helper to continually queue for the kuehs when they have only 2 ladies, to discover that they put the extras in a black plastic bag as takeaways... so we wanted to take a picture of her with the expression that she discovered something, but she couldnt hold the pose before i can take the picture and burst out laughing. heh heh

last night's dinner was a little too heavy to for me to really savour the treasure fio got back for us. was supposed to have lunch w mag but they are organising a farewell lunch for karen, another good one leaving...
so, as i look at the thoughfully packed 'hole-in-the-middle' pastry, i decided to reward my taste buds for always having to taste instant noodles haha. so i eagerly unlock the zip lock bag, carefully took one of them out, gently sink my teeth in and allow the taste to slowly satuate... one word... heavenly!!! gosh it has been like, wat, 3 years since i tasted that! fio got like 11 boxes back frm philippines that she invited some comments on the plane... hee sometimes its times like these that u appreciate the friendships around us. the inconvenience she went thru to bring back what she likes to share w us. well thank god she didnt succumb to pressure and share the donuts she bought back for us with the flight passangers ;p ;p ;p i miss my choc flavour ones though

cockles is the dish of the day and with this in mind, we travelled to newton for the conquest, only to find that it was closed for cleaning for the week. the next place in mind is abc! once there, we are like kids exploring a new playground! most of the food there either smells or look really good! we took some effort the find a store that sells cockles though. but it was so worth it!! highly recommanded! hee
i m looking forward to see the smiley faces of my paternals as they welcome us. i am so so happy to see my grandma bubbly again. she was so unwell some time back and it pains me to see her so distraught. everytime i see her well and about, i truely thank bond for the time and effort he went through to get an appmt for her with his doc, which is truely not easy. this is when someone makes a difference.

deadline conscious
a pat on my back for being able to peel myself out of my bed at 730am to start my saturday although i only slept at 430am. at least my essay is half done. 1st agenda of the day, u** bank to terminate 1 of the fd and transfer a potion to papa. 2nd agenda, class, sat morning didnt prove very promising if i am the tutor, but well it's always better to have a few of quality than to have the quantity of mediocrity. 3rd agenda, meet D for lunch, present shopping... initial plan was to cathy to get the bag we saw that suits vic but considering comex, we headed to tampines! it's been ages since i've been there! its like a hub now! wanted to head to century for country manna but only managed to find the parking entrance to mall but we got a good xo sauce fried rice deal. heh.
much as i wanted to join them at vic & joyce's home after service, i know it's not ideal. my feet hurts, i was out the whole day and my clothes and make-up seems to be peeling off from me on their own accord, the deadline being 2359, i have to enquire and set up wireless for submission, i would have stayed there at least till then or when i am done with my submission, i dont think i wanna keep them, the list goes on. if i decide to go home, its just me and myself, less considerations are needed to be made for others and thus less time wasted. it was a close call that joc decided to call D and they went for dinner, else i would have felt kinda obligated that i have prevented D to join them. heh. so vic & joyce, invite me again next time when my circumstances are less demanding!

i really do smell like choc after using the choc body wash! heh. but its not thick enuf to work up a lather. aww... since they got the ingredients, smell and colour right, they should work on the composition or something to make it really like the fudge! so when it flows out, its thick and nice smelling like the fudge, and it works up a really rich lather for shower!! awesome! hee just as long as nobody silly enuf is to break into my bathroom and assume that i hide a bottle of rich dessert in there. i was thinking of working my bathroom product range from the skin food so that my shelves looks like a scene from the kitchen! yummy bathing experience... hee fio... your fault for giving me ideas
found out from james also that there used to be snow ice in sg but it didnt do well and folded. they should set up business more centrally and most importantly easily accessible to me! hee

on our way back from supper, we had a hair raising excursion around the hillview estate where one of our stop is to the haunted mansion pearch atop a really steep road leading into the huge gates! its almost 45o! seriously, if someone who is bold enuf to take the plot of land n develop a condo or mansio, it's sure is gonna b so grand. but of cos before the tour to the haunted mansion, terence entices us with a treat to a delicious brownie from his friends who owns the fishermen's wharf. yummy... we found another cozy hangout place!
